I need to set up the facility to accept credit cards for payment for services ordered over the telephone (and potentially over the net, although not immediately).
Can anyone point me in the direction of a low cost provider, preferably with some sort of fraud protection insurance? I'm only looking at a few transactions per week - probably less than 10, valued at roughly 35 - 200 each.
Any information would be appreciated.

If so go and have a chat with your business manager who will put you in touch with that bank's card services dept who will advise what is avaiable and how much it will cost you. If you do not have a business account I cannot see a way you will be able to do this other than something like Paypal. Eric

Yes, rather oddly the bank's offering is looking best at the moment. Paypal's a non-starter as far as I can see, since the cardholder would have to make the payment themselves on the net, rather than us processing it.
I had imagined that the market was full of useful, cheap and innovative services, but apparently not.

Like you I was aware of various net based services and assumed that they would offer a full range of online and 'physical' services at a good cost, on the whole though they seem either very limited in their offerings or lack the type of financial backing I'd prefer.
I've heard some scare stories about chargebacks on Worldpay and Paypal so I was hoping for some 'don't touch them with a bargepole' or 'XYZ are fantastic and very cheap' type comments..
