Arranging Spanish Mortgages

Dec 17, 2004 4 Replies

Can any Mortgage Brokers help me with this one. I have a Spanish = Property web site selling property. I myself am a mortgage broker but = also want to arrange Spanish Mortgages for some of my sales. Whilst = Spanish Mortgages are not regulated here do they come under regulation = in Spain and does anyone have any contact info for Spanish Banks. = Alternatively do any brokers in this group already arrange Spanish = Mortgages so we could have a working relationship together.

It strikes me that if you have "a Spanish Property web site selling property" you should have researched this already and have the answers ready for potential customers.

Asking the question somewhat "after the event" makes you seem like someone I wouldn't want to do business with.

IIRC, Abbey used to (still do?) arrange their Spanish mortgages out of Gibraltar?

After the merger, Banco Santander might do it themselves?

Thanks Doug

I have access to the British offshore Banks for mortgages on Spanish Property but was wondering about the rules and regs of the Spanish equivalent of the FSA as to how easy a British Mortgage broker can arrange through say Banco Santander or BBVA and the like. It would probably be easier for me to tie up with a broker who already has the contacts, its just that I like the hands on approach and being in control of the process.
