Auld Lang Singalong

Ronald, Peter's, Jonathan, Martin, Dopey, etc etc you have helped me more than you will know this year, throwing up new ideas outside of the box and other alcohol-driven cliches :0)

Thanks so much. For Elizabeth here is my favourite Scottish poem:

JOHN ANDERSON, my jo, John, When we were first acquent, Your locks were like the raven, Your bonnie brow was brent; But now your brow is beld, John, Your locks are like the snow; But blessings on your frosty pow, John Anderson, my jo!

John Anderson, my jo, John, We clamb the hill thegither; And monie a canty day, John, We've had wi' ane anither: Now we maun totter down, John, But hand in hand we'll go, And sleep thegither at the foot, John Anderson, my jo.

Can anyone do better than that for hogmannay?

I think "alcohol-driven" and "throwing up" should not be used in such close proximity.

How about "exercise more restraint" for a NY's resolution?

Yes.

Keep taking the tablets, Troy.

We're all rooting for you.. err, that's a personal 'we', not the royal 'we'.. ;)

(My cousin got an OBE today in the Honours List. Does that make me related to someone famous?)

How can you exercise if you are in a restraint? Anyway you haven't contributed any Auld Lang Syne singalong stuff and I was in bed by ten o'clock!

I seem to have forgotten that I *wasn't* in bed by 10 o'clock after all so maybe you are right. At least I have good taste in poetry, I defy anyone to declare Burns off topic *anywhere* on NYE.

You must have meant you were still in bed at 10 o'clock on the morning after the night before.

You'll have heard the one about the Serious Burns Unit.

Happy New Year to all who sorted me out last year!

Probably only some inebriated Scots - not the sort of person you'd find on a sober accounting NG ;-)

Nobody really sorted you out, the person who came closest was Martin, you need proper advice from a proper Chartered Accountant, the sorts of sums of money you are talking about make anything else a false economy.

Have a look at:

...from a few weeks back to see how a Chartered Accountant from his years of experience will see the whole picture in an instant whereas we lesser mortals with our own particular areas of expertise and far bigger areas of ignorance stumble into the trap.
