Average Price of Accountants?

I've just started a brand new business and am wondering what the average price that an accountant is charging these days? Any suggestions? I'm offering services that are combining book keeping and general accounting. But not doing Limited Companies. Just sticking to Small sole trader businesses and partnerships. Anything beyond me is being outsourced to a small accountancy firm, that will give me super rates. I'm hoping to get alot of business by undercutting the firms in my region. But wondered what the average price is in general throughout the country?

If you have seven people on payroll then you are a lot different to the one man companies that usually pay the price you quote.

Fair enough. Im not sure what service you are getting but it sounds expensive to me.

Is that a joke? 636 pounds a year for payroll for seven people and presumably bookkeeping and final accounts and tax sounds like a bargain.

Sounds like slave labour to me!

What quality of service are you getting? Are you receiving any advice?

How do you manage to turnover less than the VAT threshold, and yet still pay

*seven* people's wages & make enough for yourself? That must be less than 7000 per annum (on average, and less all expenses) for each of the eight of you ...

As i said, 'it all depends on what you are getting'. If its just payroll its expensive.
