Big Step to Tidy up Credit File

Hey Group,

Hope your all well?

Right after getting into verious trouble with credit companys, i`ve now payed everything off (About 4 weeks ago) appart from one loan with 1400 outstanding. I`ve got a a loan for 1500 (With High Intrest) but with the hope of starting to re-building my credit score.

Im going to get a copy of my credit files to look at to make sure everything is as it should be. Should i just get the standered 2 jobbys or this that i`ve seen:

- Is this any good or just a waste of money? Also will my Bad Credit worthyness affect my parents as im living at there house?

Could somebody clarify that these steps are good as its what i`ve been dowing over the past year: I have a loan now for 1500, My bank has given me a 900 Overdraft, I have 2 x Mobile phones on Contract which in 2 years i`ve never missed a payment.

I was hoping I could get a Credit Card but even Capital one and CitiBank won`t give me one:(

My outgoing are about 10% of my incomings, im just hoping I can now sort this whole thing out before starting to look for a house in a year or so.

Any Ideas or feedback would be much appriciated.

Many thanks MCN

Have you asked Capital One about their "bad creditor/beginner" card? I think it comes with ~200 limit.

Dunno, it looks interesting, I'd probably try it.

(I'm not a credit professional; this is based on my interactions with banks and other lending authorities.)

Might be that you've exhausted your credit capacity. Most credit providers generate a maximum amount of credit allowance based upon your credit history and current outgoings. From that they subtract the credit you've already taken with other companies.

If you match their lending criteria at all (again, based on your credit history), they'll not lend you more than the remaining credit allowance they've calculated. And there're a few hidden gotchas, too: a 25-cheque book is sometimes considered a loan of GBP 2,500, if you've a GBP 100 cheque guarantee card, for example.

The 2 is best. The other is a real ripoff.

If you were living there it can do. They can apply to have you removed if they wish.

Yes - these are exactly what you want to do.

Keep payment of your loans.

Make sure that you keep you bank account out of the red. Do you need to whole overdraft ? otherwise I would cancel.

It can do. You will see when you get your credit file. You will just need to write to the dredit agency's to explain the situation.

Paybck loans as quick as you can. If you have been applying for cards your credit file will have records of all the seraches which will make you look less worthy of credit. Keep up with payments, try and pay off loans and then try again.

Once you have a credit card keep the limit low at first. Make sure that you buy as much of your monthly shopping (food/clothes etc) on the CC and then pay in full each month. This should help a bit.

Good luck - do not piss any of your debtors or banks off.

I thought that the credit score looked interesting. What's actually in it ?
