BT and O2 shares

Nov 29, 2004 4 Replies

An elderly relative of mine thought he had 150 BT shares and recently took up BTs offer to sell them. Although he was able to sell the 150 shares, they returned a share certificate for 150 o2 shares to him.

He does'nt even know what O2 is so would never have bought them. Just wondering - since hes had them for a long time, is it maybe because O2 split from BT and all BT shareholders were awarded shares in O2 as well ???

Yes, O2 was split out of BT. He can sell the O2 shares also, if he wishes.

Yes

Now worth 115p each

See if O2 do a cheap dealing service as well; a lot of companies do.

Daytona

Yes, BT shareholders were given one O2 share for every BT share they held at the time of the demerger.
