Just received notification from Virgin Energy that from 12th Dec management of our home energy account will be transferred to EDF energy - does anyone have any knowledge of this company? any good/bad/indifferent stories of what they are like as a gas and electricity supplier?

Yes - and subsidised by French taxpayers one hopes - I like that idea!!
Hrm, more like a monopolistic state-owned player using its resources to take advantage of open markets abroad whilst doggedly resisting the creation of a competitive market at home.
