I queried why a cheque deposit took 9 days to clear to my account (including two weekends) and had the following reply from Cahoot.
"After checking our records, I can confirm that your recent cheque deposit took the standard 5 days to clear on your account. "
In the past they have not taken more than four days which is quite slow enough. Is there an on-line bank offering an interest bearing current account that tries a little bit harder?
I'd personally not call 4 days slow - even HSBC take 4 working days (including the day paid in if it's been paid in before 3.30pm on a working day).

As an aside --- does anyone know if Cahoot will reintroduce customer- seelctable validity period for their "Webcard" numbers?
Halifax pays 3.04% AER on its standard current account and is available online. Also Smile pays a very similar amount.
