Car tax question - list price relevance?

I've just been given a new company car and forwarded the relevant details to the IR.

They've replied that they can't issue me with a new tax code because I omitted the list price of the vehicle.

I thought it was all down to CO2 emissions these days?

They apply a percentage of the list price according to how much CO2 you car produces.
