Claiming 401k and US Social Security

Hi,

I'm a UK resident that spent 3 years working in the US. Paying US taxes and contributing to a 401k (US equivalent of a pension scheme).

While filling out my end of year tax forms at a HR-Block (US accountancy firm), an account I was speaking with said, that when I returned to the UK I may be able to claim the Social Security back that I had paid over the past 3 years.

Can anyone verify this? If you can... How would I go about claiming it?

Also, can anyone suggest a method of getting my 401k into a UK pension scheme or saving account?

Cheers.
