Contents Ins. comparisons?

Does anyone know a site that offers comparisons between home contents insurance products. I ask because my contents/accidental damage policy from Lloyds TSB seems to be twice what MNBA have on their recent junk mail offering - principally, I imagine, because they offer contents value at £26K or so, while Lloyds tell me their standard 3 bedroom cover value is over £50K (which seems a little excessive to me).

I went through this same process in May. I was with Lloyds TSB for 6 years but decided to see how competative they were. By switching to Halifax my yearly insurance bill (Buildings and Contents) has reduced from 400 to

300. Also Halifax have unlimited contents cover.

It's a sobering thought if you actually go through everyroom and itemise what you actually own. I have over 200 cd's. If you use 10 average purchase price, that's 2k alone. Also think about every last item, lampshades, carpets, curtains, etc. It soon adds up.

Unlimited? You mean no minimum? I'd be surprised.

I've just checked and it's unlimited Buildings not Contents.

Try more than. They cost me £500 less than the lloyds quotes (Are you sitting down the girl told me on the phone when she was runing some quotes for me - think it was lloyds I rang...) more than have minimum cover of 66k I think too.

... but for things like 'collections' of CDs or books it's *very* doubtful if the insurance will pay for the replacement cost. Even with 'new for old' insurance I think you won't get the actual cost back.
