Credit Card PPI.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Is it possible to cancel Payment Protection Insurance on credit cards?

Yes - ring your credit card issuer and tell them to cancel. You will probably get a big speal about how important it really is, and that you must keep up repayments, etc.

Thanks. So PPI isn't a condition of having the card then?

No - it's a "benefit"??? However, the only "benefit" is to the credit card issuer because they get their repayments covered by selling you their over expensive insurance. If you get into a position of not be able to repay your debt, then you simply request for an arrangement and as long as you stick to that, then they can't touch you to demand full repayment, although they will enjoy ringing you at every opportunity.

No; no matter how much they try to imply otherwise.

Yes, by closing the account if it gets really difficult. But usually it doesn't come to that.
