Credit rating question

Will having an address at a flat, as opposed to a house with it's own front door, negatively affect your credit rating?

Doesn't your flat have its own front door?

The block I live in has some "flats" with their own front door, so I don't see how having your own front door makes you more credit worthy. Some of the most expensive flats are the ones on higher floors including a couple with dedicated elevators so these are the people with the money!

Possibly. Some companies think that all flats have communal post boxes. Having lived in a total of 8 or

9 flats in my life I have never experienced this, but I do know some places that do.

Not having your own front door places you more at risk of identity theft because someone else in the block could steal your post. Finance companies recognised this even before they had the name, identity theft.

Only from the potential for post to go astray.

You may need to make sure the address format on the electoral roll is exactly correct for the credit search to work. My addresss is in a very cryptic format that nobody could guess, not be design but I suppose it is an inadvertent anti-fraud measure.

If you live in HMO (house of multiple occupation) then I guess that may impact things negatively.
