Current Account.

Hi Guys,
I wonder if anyone can recommend a bank for a current account:
No paper statements - Don't have the need! Not a minumum amount deposit each month, i.e. wages
A debit card
Just need it as a second account. Was looking at smile.co.uk - But I think they require a minumum each month of around 1000?
Regard
Glen.

Second current account? You have to prove your id to open a new one so its all traceable. If you're going to be trading as then I can see the need perhaps. Nationwide will do the trick with some nice online access, although they charge £6.50 I think for foreignn checks. More info needed on why you want a second account and possible needed features....

you could try cahoot (www.cahoot.co.uk)
i have had an a/c with them for some years with a debit card.
a nice thing they do now is "disposable credit cards" (webcard) for web transactions. you specify the amount you want to spend and a credit card number, expiry date and cvc are generated.
once the transaction has been processed, you could tell the whole world the credit card number and no loss will befall you as the credit limit would have been reached.

But completely useless if you're buying e-tickets for the likes of British Airways, BMI or Eurotunnel.

I opened a second account with my bank just to use as 'pocket money', the bank pays a good rate of interest if I pay in 1000 every month, so I set up standing orders to transfer a little more than this in two payments, one at the start of the month, and another half way through, I also set up standing orders on the new account to pay those sums back to the original account, what I am saving as 'pocket money' is not interfered with by the new account, but I maintain the higher interest rate.
