Debt issues

I am in a legal court case with my ex-employer that runs the risk of putting me out of house and home. I am married with a small child and obviously don't want this to happen.

My concern is that as a company they have access to much greater funds than I do personally and therefore will not be able to represent myself well enough to win my argument.

I have equity in my house but already struggle to pay the mortgage so with drawing any more will place me in to a monthly debt situation.

Has anyone ever experienced such a situation or can offer any advice?

Any comments appreciated

I've been compensated out of tribunal for an employment dispute - is that relevant experience ?

You could put the house in your wifes name.

Talk to Citizens Advice.

You can purchase after the event legal insurance.

Try a conditional charges (no-win no-fee) solicitor.

Is it really a court case or tribunal ?

In particular, have a look at the Do's and Dont's pages. If you haven't already served Data Protection Act notices on them, do so. Also study the section headed 'After they contact you and demand cash'.

Good luck.
