When applying for this card

, it asks your income, and the address and telephone number of your employer. Does the company contact your employer regarding your income? Do any credit card companies make this check? Is it a normal thing?

I don't think they ever do. I wonder whether it would even be legal for a company you work for to disclose personal details about you without your permission?

They will probably have some small print in their declaration that is you giving them permission to contact them. Making it legal
