First of all, sorry, I am not sure that "evaluation survey " is the right technical term for checking the conditions of the flat and of the building.
I have been asked for 200. The studio flat in about 40 square meters (430 sq. foot?)
Is it a fair price? I heard of 400 for a big house in the country, so I was expecting to be asked to pay something like 100.
Any idea? Where can I compare prices among different companies for the same job?
Thanks. Irena
The UK relies less on exact size for pricing than the rest of Europe.
I assume you mean 200,000? This is a lot of money for a studio flat - is it in London?
I would be wary of studio/one bedroom flats in any property slump. It took a friend of mine 10 years to sell her one bedroom flat at barely more than her purchase price in 1989.
A Report for Valuation purposes is really just that, and takes no more than a rudimentary view of the condition of the property. It is there for the lender to base the loan value on.
