what action will the financial ombudsman take against a company that applied for insurances on my behalf without my permission. The said company applied and even had direct debits set up with the insurance companies, they had given these companies all my bank details. I also owed this company some money for other services rendered but can i withold this payment to them even though they are threatning court action. the company concerned told me that the guy that set up these insurancies doesn't work for them, however they agree that he is a independent financial adviser, who does do work from time to time in their name,[which he did with me].
