Finance options for cars - a question

Hi,

I/we had a torrid year last year in which we managed to fall nearly 12 months behind in arrears on our mortgage (for which we are now within two months of being up-to-date) and have collected a number of defaults and my wife (i'm not sure if it affects me since it was a joint account) has just got a County Court payment order to Natwest (not sure if this is a CCJ or not).

Things have now picked up. I'm earning plenty of money again, which is nice since we're paying things off and getting the mortgage sorted etc. However my personal lease is up for the car soon, and since its a new BMW (ok not the greatest car in the world but its not a banger) I'd hate to have to go back to a 1984 Austin Metro....but obviously BMW Finance have said they won't give me another car and the state my credit is in I'm doubtful who else will. In fact, we went to 'Approved Car Finance' to get something vaguely nice but instead were offered a really old and knackered Citroen Xansia with foam in the cloth seats :-(

So we passed on that car :-)

However, I'm not asking for the earth now, I just want something thats _ok_, I don't even want another BMW - I'd make do with a Renault Megane or something, just for the next 12 months until i'd got enough money saved to buy something NICE outright.

So my question, after all that waffling, is THIS. Does anyone know where i could get either a new (or newish) personal lease car such as a Megane for the next 12 months OR where I could 'hire purchase' a Megane from, either without a credit check AT ALL or even from a VERY VERY VERY understanding finance company??

Everything else is just perfect, its all coming back together nicely; its just that I need a reliable car that isn't going to let me down on a cold morning because that way I can keep the money coming in and continue averting what could have been a very VERY nasty situation.

Please help!!
