future challenges in housing/property market anyone?

chemists used to say that biodegradeable plastics would be the goldmine for their industry. pharmaceuticals speak of that elusive 'blockbuster' drug. what would be the property market's equivalent? ie. challenges that have yet to be addressed but seem impossible now.
