gas and elec contracts - gone into black hole!

Jul 22, 2004 6 Replies

hello,

after switching gas and elec suppliers (different ones for each) my contracts seem to have gone into black holes. i have not received a bill for either for over 6 months now.

not that i'm complaining. but i want to cover my back in case they start getting shirty with me later on.

so i do my bit and pester them about it every couple of months but nothing happens. i'm keeping a record of all my phone calls with them and still have all the contract paperwork they initially sent to me.

anything else i can do? should i be worried? i don't really see it as my responsibility to chase them so i can pay them!!

sandy.

Can you look at your bill on-line? You might have signed up for paperless billing.

no mention has been made of online billing and i have not opted for any such option. btw SWEB (gas) and npower (elec) are the parties concerned.

I'm actually in a very similar situation, we haven't paid electricity in over 2 years since the meter is broken. I've had the engineer out on two separate occasions and they've never chosen to replace the meter. I expect because it's too much work!

Just because they don't bill you does not mean you are entitled to 'free' service(s).

Put money aside in a different bank account so that if/ when a bill does arrive you have the cash to pay it. Meantime YOU earn the interest.

i may not be entitled to 'free' gas and elec but if they don't bill me

*ever* that's exactly what i'll be getting!

well they sure as hell not getting any interest off me if/when they ever bill me
