I lost all my money in this fiasco!! Is there anyone else in the same situation that can share information, in order to get some satisfaction against the persons allegedy responsible who have my money in their pockets or the pockets of their fund manager friends! It's not fair! The Ombudsman stated that this is/was a "non-regulated company" and outside his remit.I seek other aggrieved individual shareholders to collate data and establish a group to achieve some retribution. I only seek fair play.Anyone interested or any professional advisers who can help or make suggestions as to course of action would be very much appreciated. For interest, these guys turned every £1000 into £1.27! And now it is in liquidation, all the bodies are buried. And Gartmore have bought the pig in the poke.

What precisely is your gripe? Did you know that values can go down as well as up? Were you sold this as a safe investment? Did you buy it without advice? As you saying the fund managers are to blame for poor management or an advisor is to blame for his advice?

Did you buy shares? If so you've only got yourself to blame, unless you were advised to do so, in which case, depending on the status of that advice, you may have a case against the adviser.

Well, seeing the words "technology", "split capital" and "investment trust" in the same sentence would make me run at least a mile.

Sorry for delay - been away. Answers are yes, yes, yes,. This was originally a blue chip tracker for the dublin iseq- the First ireland Investment Company Ltd. its a long way from a portfolio like this had in March 2000 to a split cap silver circle vehicle which it was 6 mobths later. With the fund managers buying shares in each others trusts. worthless shsres. It is not easy to lose 98.7% of anybodys money, it needs a particular gift, or guile. WD
