How do I take out an Injunction?

I have written evidence from the Monitoring Officer of the relevant Local Authority responsible for the legal/financial affairs of my local Regional Assembly, that it is operating outside its constitution.

I'd like to prevent the Assembly conducting ultra-vires business and need to understand whether taking out an injunction is a sensible way to proceed.

Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions as to whether

a) it is possible b) if so how complex a matter it would be to undertake c) what costs might be involved d) any other ramifications or practical considerations.

The alternative to taking an injunction against the Assembly, would be injunctions against specific Local Authority representatives who are continuing to attend the Assembly despite the fact that their Local Authority is no longer a member of the Assembly.

Usual TIA for any help / advice.

Apologies to all in uk.finance for sending this posting. It should of course have gone only to uk.legal.

appropriate, rather than an injunction. What, exactly, do you want to achieve (the best place to start)?

Yes, but I think we might need a bit more precision. What exactly do you want them to stop doing?

In principle, I suspect it is.

Sounds like it might be complex. It also sounds like its judicial review you want, which must be done in the High Court (and almost invariable in the Administrative Court thereof). Public law, and jr in particular, is generally thought to be ticklish. I always find it so, and I am about 20% a public lawyer.

Could be considerable. A friend JR'ed her employer and ended up being hit for costs quite badly.

If you have a decent case, why not see someone who is expert in such things? Geoffrey Bindman comes to mind, but there must be plenty of others.

Sounds harder.
