Intermittant credit card use

If you don't use your credit card every month (and thus no payment required) would this affect your credit rating at all:

{as (according to experian, 'understanding your credit file') it would be recorded as a 'D' or a 'U'. as explained:

i.e. could it improve your credit rating as you did not need credit that month? (although, if it was recorded as a 'U' it could be interpreted as a disputed over the payment due, and be seen that you were a troublesome customer)

OR

would it negatively affect it as you would not have a string of noughts (or ones) related to that account? or if it was recorded as a 'D' that you did not use the account (that month) and aren't as profitable.

ALSO:

would credit card cos (in my case Barclaycard) reduce the monthly APR on the account (assuming it was in good order) automatically, possibly to get a customer speding more, or just because the account was paid regularly and you would be seen as a lower risk (than perhaps when the credit check was done).

I am wanting a reduction from 14.9 to 11.9 (yes I could change cards, but I do usually pay in full)

Thanks in advance Scott

A dispute would show as a Q, so no.

Probably not. Depends on the issuing criteria for the company concerned.

I doubt it. If you want a lower interest rate, you're best bet would be to leave the account dormant for a few months. Then they will offer you a lower rate to encourage you to transfer your balance back to them.
