Investing a small, (EUR), inheritance.

Hi,

I recently inherited some money, (~100K), from a family member in France, but I am a bit unsure as to what I should do with it. Because I am currently on a long term contact overseas, (+5 years), I am only in the first year of the contract. I am a British citizen with only a work permit in the country I am in.

For practical reasons, I bought a house where I am based but given the political/financial situation of the country I don't think it would make sense to pay off my bond with the money. I am paying of the bond with my current salary, (in local currency). The plan been, if the country does not collapse, I would be able to sell the house when I go and make some money back, (as it is a good, local, investment).

As I knew I was going for a while, I sold everything, I own nothing in the UK, (no house, no car, nothing). I do still have my Barclays current account with a couple of quid on it. I transfer some money onto that account from time to time.

When I left I also told HMRC that I would no longer be paying taxes for a while, so they might need to know why some money is coming in.

So, my questions, what do you think the best investment would be? What would you do with the money? Ideally I would like the money to be accessible, this is purely in case the country goes up in flame, (again), and I have to return to the UK.

Any reliable financial advisors that I could contact via email, (as phone call are not cheap either).

Many thanks for any advise/suggestions

Since no-one here appears to know, I'd try the Motley Fool - International - Expat Investors board. The FAQs alone appear useful -
