Is it possible to sell a life assurance policy?

Hi,

I've got a life assurance policy with Sun Life which I no longer require. The surrender value almost covers what I paid in which amazes me but I wondered if like endowments, life assurance policies are tradeable for more money than the surrender value.

I've looked at the endowment sites and none of them mention life assurance. I guess I probably can't but it would be nice to know for sure either way.

Thanks,

Alan.

"YES"; insurable interest is not necessary, other than at inception.

I assume it's form of Whole of Life policy? If so, and it's a With Profits policy, it could sold. However, I believe the market is not too good at the moment.

Do a Google for Traded Endowment Policy (TEP) .
