K income tax code

Well there you go. Although they say accuracy is "critical", they then go on to claim they will "ensure" their service is efficient, but nothing about it being accurate.

You really ought to let the taxman do what he likes, but look to the payroll service to see you all right. Get *them* to deduct £2200 from your net pay evenly over three years, and let them ride out the blips with the taxman.

I have thought of that but will wait to hear what the IR decide to do. My employer (a school) has now taken the payroll 'in house' so I suspect it could be fairly easy to do. I may have a word once a get a decision (prob next week from the IR)

I've been retired for 15 years, with a very straightforward two-pensions-and-a-few-Grand-in-ISAs situation, but I have spread-sheeted my tax liabilities (and calculated my K code) every year. It got me a rebate going back 3 years on one occasion....
