In 1997 by Brother died and left me a portfolio of shares and peps. Initially I tried to sort out the values for probate but gave up and entrusted the work to an IFA. It has now come to light that the IFA "lost" one of the peps, this came to light when Barclays who have acquired the company who managed the pep found my original communication in their records. It is probable that I have lost a considerable sum due to this (but not enough to pay professional fees) How can I asses my possible losses?
