Municipal Bonds.

At one time Councils used to issue Municipal Bonds and Co-ops also used to issue them. Is this now a thing of the past? Derek.

My father had those back in the 70's.... when UK inflation was rife...haven't seen them for years. I suppose councils invest in banks like Icesave these days in place of the individual bond investor!.....it may come around again now that banks are seen as high risk.

This was at that time. All the towns used to advertise their Bonds as did various C0-Ops. One I had was the Peterborough Co-Op bond. A friend in America tells me that he has Municipal Bonds and that they have tax advantages for investors. Derek.
