Haven't got the right terms for this but

some story (pre credit crunch) about NU spreading orphan funds amongst current members

i'm thinking endowments

anyone know anything concrete on this ?

not sure their indian call centre could cope with this one

thanks

You dont mean the reattribution process for with profits bondholders by any chance?...where they decided to distribute the "inherited estate" because it was surplus funds they didn't need to operate the "smoothing process"....which they now find they need to ride out the current impending recession and expected poor share performance?

Thats it !

you put it much better than my attempt

so i won't get a handout on my endowment ? :)

thanks

Well although I heard something on the news about the credit squeeze/impending recession knocking the reattribution process off course somewhat...in other words not to be as generous as originally planned I cannot find where I heard it...possibly on the beeb...anyway the original process is explained here..and if you are one those lucky beneficiaries of this payout you would already have received documentation from Norwich Union informing you that you are the "chosen one". Details can be found here of the offer...but I can't find the later statement anywhere;
