Are offshore investment bonds covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, anyone know?

I have quite a bit of money in some of those, and unfortunately I don't think they are. But I believe that some of the offshore jurisdictions around the UK (Jersey, Isle of Man etc.) do offer similar protection schemes of their own.
