Orchestrated Run on Banks Planned

They appear to be aware of the consequences. I'm not sure that all the people who might take their instructions are.

If Eric Cantona's in charge, how can it fail.

There is also a competing (or perhaps complimentary) plan to buy all the silver in the world and bring down JPMorgan.

Oh well, gives them something to do I suppose. I don't suppose they will be buying much silver themselves.

so, what? has cantona got a fork lift and an hgv standing by? or is his dough in monaco?

yeah... like cantona is going to take out all 25 centimes... I mean cents he has in French banks ;)

Looking at the venom plastered all over the message boards on the media sites, I would say there are a lot of people poised to do what he is suggesting.

And what do they suggest people do with their withdrawn money?

What proportion of bank deposits do they imagine to be privately owned?

Aggregate size of bank reserves?

Volume of cash flow through banking system?

Pure unadulterated nonsense!

Truly bonkers.

But if anyone in the UK wishes to buy silver or gold in bulk the big bullion dealers will sell to anyone who turns up with cash.

'Cooksons Precious Metals' sell the stuff in any quantity you'd like to buy and can carry out of the place.

Just remember that precious metal sales in the UK attract VAT.

Sales of coins do not do so. It's probably cheaper to buy your gold as sovereigns although silver bullion seems cheaper than Britannia sliver coins at the moment.

I saw this story in one of the Sunday newspapers where it was said that it was a big deal with lots of followers. Well it might be in the UK but in France, where King Eric comes from (he's a lovely and talented bloke by the way) I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. I can only assume then that X-Factor isn't keeping the plebs happy enough this week so your crap media needs to latch on to some other dopey story. Stil we've got the Windsor boy and his stalker getting married next year, I'm sure the press will get back to that soon enough.

I'm not sure they've anticipated the problem that costs will rise the more people join the protest.

Which is the opposite of most protests.

December 7th will come and will go and nobody will notice. These people are simply crackpots.

My family will notice. It is my eldest son's birthday.

And as Eric Cantona might never have said "when ze vultures follow ze bullion van, eet ees because zey theenk sovreigns weel be thrown out of ze rear"

And as costs rise the people who started it all sell out and make a fortune.

Withdrawing your money from a bank is easy :)

Not if Robert Peston is there, fanning the panic flames it is not. Then you might have to queue for 8 hours only to be told that the branch has run out of cash.

With a second queue of muggers waiting outside to divest customers of their cash, that's just as well.
