Pension reform question

Do the proposals allow you to collect a pension before the new retirement date (66 for me) if you have a full (30 year) contribution record as happens now ?

No. The only option AIUI is to take it late and get it enhanced.

BTW what did you mean "as happens now"? You can't get the state pension early now if you have a full contribution record.

I though a man could get it at 63 ?

Nothing about that in my copy of NP46. What makes you think that? I don't think there are *any* circumstances in which you can get your basic state pension before your state pension age.

You're not confusing it with the pension credit are you? Men can get pension credit at age 60 currently (this will increase in line with the women's pension age).

You wouldn't really expect volume 2 (or any other) of the UK Hydrographic Office's Pilot (sailing directions) for the Mediterranean to have much to say about state pensions, would you?

No, I think I was confusing the qualifying years, thanks !
