Premium Bonds Payout Delay

May 20, 2009 6 Replies

I have won three times in last couple of months - 2*25 in April and

1*25 in May.

I thought that the April cheque was a long time coming - but the May one is even worse - still not received.

I suspect it is a deliberate policy to delay the payments - think of how much extra interest NS&I get from 3 week's delay.

No different really to the employer hanging on to your pay for a month, or you having to wait TWO months for that 'extra' as you missed the 26th as the deadline date for the claim for the extra .... Or the bank taking 3 business days to transfer money which takes milliseconds electronically ... I could go on ... but you are right DELIBERATE policy !!

I won 2*25 in April and 4*25 in May. All arrived by the'usual' time - around about the 14th of the month.

My paltry May one arrived on the 14th. Derek

I'm curious to know how you know you have won. Do you check all your numbers every month on the website?

Robert

Hi Robert. Yes, I do check online but rather than checking all my numbers you just have to enter your holder's number. The website then tells you what prizes you have won (for the last 6 month, I think) They're usually pretty quick at putiing the prizes online - generally by the 3rd or 4th of the month.

Jeff

Aha, I hadn't realised it just requried the holder's number. That's more simple. Robert
