Questions about Credit check and other things

Hi All, I've applied to rent a flat on friday and the agency said they'll do a credit check on me early next week. Trouble is I always move nearly all of my money from my current account to a savings account. Having looked at some examples of online credit checks I did notice that some of them show current account balances.I'm worried that someone might look at my bank account balance and think I don't have any funds. Would it be worth my while on monday to quickly transfer some cash from my savings account to my bank account? I suppose what I'm really asking is how up to date the balances are on credit checks eg If I put in money on monday morning and someone does a credit check on monday afternoon will the money show up on the credit check? Anyone know? Btw My credit history is perfect No CCJ's no arrears, no missed payments etc.

TIA

Who, aside from your bank (and the police/IR), can *legally* "look at your bank account balance" without your express permission??

Anyway, if you are happy for them to see your balances, why not simply show them copies of statements from your *savings* account as well?

Most current account balances don't show unless you have an overdraft with the bank and you have defaulted in some way.

Also, credit reference files supplied under CAIS (Credit Account Information Sharing) are only updated once a month so your attempt to move money around the system for just one or two days probably wouldn't work.

Because they said they're not interested in any savings accounts. The sample credit report from checkmyfile displays bank account balance but the experian report doesn't.

Thanks for clarifying that. I don't have an overdraft and I've never been overdrawn or defaulted neither.

You will be fine - neither Experian nor Equifax show your current account balance.

The rental agency will just look for problems in your record, bad debts, CCJs, missed payments etc. Since you don't have any of these you will be fine.

The fact you can put up the deposit and a months rent in advance is good enough for most places.
