quick question about paymnets from my employer.

I don't have a bank account. I'm starting a job soon, is there any way I can ask my employer to pay me besides cash? Thanks and bye.

Thanks Peter. but I don't have a bank account so cheque and direct transfer are out of the question.

This might be pretty obvious to most people but why don't you go and open a bank account - even just a basic one is you cannot have a proper account?

You can ask for whatever you want, but your employer isn't obliged to offer it. If wages at your new job are paid by BACS, you'll have to open a bank account.

unfortunately I have a bad credit rating, for varios compicated reasons. Hence most banks turn me down.

You only need one bank account.

What about a building society account?

Get an account which doesn't give you credit then! There are lots of them - "basic" bank accounts, savings accounts, building society passbook accounts etc. Most will accept BACS transfers in.

Thought about a pre-pay credit card?

Don't even think about them.

Can wages really be paid into a pre-payment card?

I think they can.. However, it is best to check the T&Cs of the card you are looking to get.

Yes, I've checked them and some of them do accept wages. But can someone recommend a card which is the best value for money, meaning it has the least annual fees/joining costs? Thanks a lot.
