Re-Mortgage Help

Nov 15, 2004 2 Replies

Dear All,

I'm looking to re-mortgage as I my mortgage discount ends at the end of December (no tie-in or penalty).

Can anyone offer me any words of wisdom on the following :

1) Britannia's Tracker -

3) Newcastle Discount -

If it's not too late, check out the Portman's 25-month fixed rate at

4.49% and no redemption penalty past the discount period.

offers this - looks like it's new for 2005.

BTW I am just coming to the end of my 2-year discount period with the Newcastle. Am currently paying 4.54%. Have been very happy with it but they don't look like the most competitive around at the moment and although I've told them I'm going to switch and offered them the option of making me an offer, they haven't bothered calling me yet - and I told them over a month ago. Otherwise their customer service has been pretty good.
