The RPI rate of inflation was 0.1% last month, with mortage rates and house prices falling it will probably go negative.The CPI is 3%. I wonder if index linked pensions which have normally been linked to the RPI will be switched. If not then they will not rise at all.The RPI is normally used in pay negotiations which means no pay increases.

Are you proposing that pensions and pay negotiations be linked to whichever index is the higher?

The crooks that mis-govern this country, given any flexibility in this area, would pay the *lower* rate every time.
