Slightly OT: jobs

If you think about any bank branch, you have the people dealing with customers, and then there must be other staff behind the scenes dealing with computers, liasing with other financial organisations, dealing with other branches, etc.

Not massively hard work, but not for total dummies.

My daughter was wondering where such jobs are advertised. Obviously it would not be on the Internet because they are local jobs, but she claims (and may be wrong) that such positions are not in the local paper?

Any ideas? Thanks.

trained up( or left to get on with depending on your point of view) and then leave because pay and conditions are better elswhere.Mostly branches will have posters in branch or try asking how each bank works ie if local branch manager is the hirer and firer write to him / her but if it is a regional job then get the address and write to them with CV. Most banks have structured recruiting programs. The training program for graduates, for example, usually starts in September with recruiting taking place at universities earlier in the year. Forms need to be filled and references checked.

If you go to the website of any of the larger banks, there will be a link for career oportunities and more specific information.
