Standard Life 'Dividends'

Hi there

Can ayone explain to me (in layman's terms please!) how and when I might benefit from the anticipated payout from Standard Life when they do whatever it is they're going to do next year?! I have had a Homeplan savings account for the past 4 years to which i pay in roughly 130 pcm.

Thanks

A confused investor

If the Homeplan is investing in the With Profits fund then you are a member of the Standard Life Assurance Company.

It seems that they intend to demutualise and issue shares to its members. If nobody buys the company form the outset then you will get some shares.

At this moment nobody knows how many shares each member will get. The value of the shares will be determined by the Stock Market when the shares start trading.

If somebody buys the company then you may get some dosh instead, or shares in the company that buys it or loan notes from that company or some combination thereof.
