Lord Acton famously said, ?Absolute power corrupts absolutely.?
The obvious application of this mantra is to government. But can it not also be applied to economics? Is it not true that when centralized entities control the flow of revenue, corruption will follow? Powerful, multi-billion dollar hedge funds currently have a choke hold on Wall Street. Consequently, we see wild swings in the index. We see confusion, fear, and uncertainty. We witness the deterioration of consumer confidence. America was born in opposition to tyranny. She broke the yoke of dictatorship in a great Revolution. This resulted in the world?s greatest experiment in democracy and the establishment of a new world leader. These are dangerous times. Our economic system is in the stranglehold of a few ruthless tyrants. Markets are no longer driven by supply and demand, but by the greed of powerful insiders. The time has come for another American Revolution!
