Title on credit cards?

Why is it that debit cards have Mr, Mrs etc but credit cards don't?

Also has anyone got a new Natwest chip and pin Maestro/Switch card? What does it look like?

That's not generally the case. My debit and credit cards have titles. My old debit card didn't. Just ask the bank to change it.

I have five credit cards with 'MR' prefixing the name.

Didn't you mean DR. :)

I have a new Chip & PIN enabled NatWest Switch/Maestro.

It is just a purple card, with the Switch and (slightly bigger) Maestro logo on the front.

It still has MR on it.

Some credit card issuers let you choose how your name will be embossed on the card when you first apply for the card. American Express is one card issuer that has for years provided a field for this on application forms. Other card issuers have followed suit in recent years. I assume they have certain criteria to prevent you from putting something completely different from your real name. If there's no question about embossed names on the application form, try writing how you want it somewhere else on the form and depending on how manual or automated the form processing is, the card issuer make take notice.

Not fussed about what is on my cards. Just an observation as my Barclaycard doesn't have MR on but connect card does. As I said not bothered, so not worth the hassle of writing to CC co. New Chip and PIN connect card has 'BARCLAYS' written at right angles to embossed card no. on front of card. Does look a bit weird!

Yes, and it's not even at the correct right angle, because when you put it into a cash machine, Barclays is written upside down.

That is so the machine can read it, not you.
