Pretty much what it says on the tin: if I stick 3 grand worth of equities into my stockes ISA, do I get the interest free of tax? Does it just go into the stocks ISA? What happens when the Treasuries mature?

Some confusion here. If you stick equities into an ISA you dont get interest, you get Dividends. At the moment the ISA manager can claim 10% tax back on the dividend but thgis is about to stop.
But if you put STOCKsS into an equity ISA then you do get interest and this will continue to be paid either tax to the ISA or the ISA can claim the deducted tax back.
In all cases any dividend/interest payment from an ISA that is paid out from the ISA is free of tax to the owner.
When a Stock is repaid then the ISA receives a wodge of cash and this can be held for a while within the ISA pending a furtther investment but any interest earned on the cash receives net interest.
Woops, I meant 3 grand of Treasuries into a stocks ISA.
So interest from Treasuries won't be affected by Brown's changes? It'll remain tax-free?
Thanks

Yes. If you are putting in Unit Trusts or OIECs into the ISA then the fund needs to have a minimum proportion of the fund in fixed i8nterest, I think its 80%.
