I've heard talk recently of some sort of rural fuel subsidy. What does this entain and what types of fuel are under consideration and for which consumers?

There was a Lib Dem proposal to discount petrol/diesel in very rural areas such as the Scottish Highlands. I doubt this will be included in the coalition plans since the tories voted against it for the 2008 Finance Bill.
Oh, no discount for home heating oil, then :(
MM
Well no, because that price doesn't differ quite as much in rural areas

But we don't have the choice that others do who are on mains gas.
