I've got an Abbey Credit Card, which is a card administered by MBNA. I recently read that following the acquisition of Abbey National plc by Banco Santander of Spain, Abbey wants to bring its credit card business back in house and drop the association with MBNA. However, apparantly, MBNA has poured scorn on the idea by suggesting that people who have Abby/MBNA cards are their customers and not Abbey's. So, whose customer am I?

Who is named as the other party in the credit agreement?
Looking online, the T&C for a card you apply for now says it is MBNA, but they have the option to transfer you to Abbey if they want to.
Currently you are a customer of MBNA, using their "Abbey" branded card.
