Yen to £ exchange rate - will it ever improve?

Jan 21, 2007 1 Replies

The yen : £ exchange rate has been declining consistently for a long time - not favouring an intention to transfer money from a Japanese Bank to the UK.

Does anyone know if the decline is going to be reversed any time soon or is it likely to continue getting worse?

Thanks

This is mainly because interest rates are so much lower in Japan than here. The higher interest you receive in a GBP account would probably make up for the capital loss in Yen terms.

The Yen rate may go up soon, but so might the GPB rate, so it probably won't make much difference.
