Do what you enjoy doing, as that's what you'll do best at. As far as the technicalities, stick out another half a year working, as most states require two years experience to obtain your certificate. Get back to school if you can, night school if you must, get the educational experience to sit for the CPA exam, and as they say in these parts, "get -r- done".

You're right. I have no clue what I like yet. By the way I'm early 30's. I spent a few years in the Air Force (working in a non-accounting related field). I'm actually in the middle of a job search right now. I recently relocated to the NW suburbs of Chicago. I'm thinking of using a professional resume writing service (specifically the affiliate of Monster.com). Anyone have any experience with those services?

I spent over 17 years in CE, two different fields. They helped pay for schooling which was nice. Graduated when I was 30, not because I was slow, because I started college later than usual.
