am I an accountant?

Hi. If someone received an undergraduate degree in accounting from a university somewhere in USA(specifically from Cal state university Fullerton), is he automatically considered an accountant eventhough he
doesn't work in an accounting field? Thanks in advance

You're an accountant if that's the work you do, regardless of your education. You may have an accounting degree and wait tables at the local greasy spoon. You'd be a waiter, not an accountant.

It's frightening to see the lack of common sense around.
