CC statement vs. reciepts.

From the standpoint of an IRS audit mainly, will a credit card statement (gas cards in particular) serve as adequate documentation for gas/auto expenses or would I need to have all of the actual gas reciepts as well?

And be sure the copyright date on the mileage log is not after the tax year you're "keeping records" for. There was a Tax Court case from years ago where a mileage log was presented which showed a copyright date after the tax year in question. Obviously, the taxpayer lost that one...
