CPA Review help

I am an accountant who is working in a small firm in a semi-rural town and am looking to sit for my CPA. I have inquured around and checked out websites for review material(CD's, test questions, ect.) but the only ones I find are very expensive. Also I am not sure what to use for the best results. You see I am barely getting by financially and cannot afford to buy alot of material to study from. Any suggestions/donations of materials would be appreciated.

and see if they have anything that will help. That site has many free or low-cost items that you may be able to use.

Good Luck!

I'm using Kaplan's materials right now -- the material found at

that is-- and I'm generally pleased with them. I think their question database and sample tests/simulations are pretty good. A few of the videos can be confusing or present things in perhaps a slightly more simplified version than maybe what I think is necsesary, but, when taken together with the rest of the material (especially questions) they offer, most of the videos are a big help and done well I think. I've passed one section of the CPA (REG, my weakest area honestly) so far using Kaplan, and I'm taking FAR pretty soon. Cost for this program runs about $500 per section if I remember correctly. I think that's about the middle of the road in terms of cost of what's available in the market today. What's good about the CPA now-a-days of course is that you can spread it out over 18 months in most jurisdictions, so you can sign up to take a section and therefore only buy one section's study material at a time from whomever you're buying. I think most are now selling one section at a time, if they weren't always. So, yeah, I've been generally pleased with Kaplan. Good luck.

Thought about buying used books or checking eBay?
